Meet Alexis Sweeney

Founder of The Silhouette Method

Alexis Sweeney was 13 when she was diagnosed with severe scoliosis—an acute “S” curve in her spine that would shape both her body and her understanding of it.

Movement, however, remained constant as she moved to NYC to become a professional dancer.

As a professional dancer, Alexis worked under the constant expectation to stay in peak physical condition. But persistent back pain made traditional forms of cardio—especially running—feel out of reach. Rather than forcing her body to keep up, she began to listen more closely, stepping back and asking what a more supportive, sustainable approach to movement could look like.

What if strength didn’t have to come at the expense of your body?

What if intensity could exist without impact?

That curiosity became a turning point.

She began to study movement more deeply—alignment, muscle activation, and the mechanics behind sustainable strength. What started as a personal need to move without pain evolved into a method built on intention.

The Silhouette Method.

Rooted in low-impact, deeply controlled movement, the method is designed to build strength, endurance, and alignment from the inside out. It emphasizes core connection, postural integrity, and the correction of imbalances—creating a workout that challenges the body without compromising it.

But its impact goes beyond the physical.

Today, Alexis’s mission is clear: to empower individuals to feel strong in their bodies—not in spite of their differences, but because of them. To create a space where movement feels supportive, where progress feels sustainable, and where every individual, regardless of their starting point, can build confidence through how they move.

Through both live and on-demand classes, The Silhouette Method meets you where you are—and moves with you.

Because this isn’t just about working out.

It’s about redefining strength, on your own terms.
